I've managed to solve the problem: it seems that I have accidentally created the orig.tar.xz from 'upstream' branch instead of 'pristine-tar'... That would be equivalent to using '--git-no-pristine-tar' command line option to 'gbp'. I have switched to -2 Debian version from -1.1 and reuploaded the package.
