while I'm meanwhile convinced that we should not remove the extension
but please be carefully with your arguments: The truth ist it _rarely_
happens. The "never" can be falsified by a single example which I
personally experienced and had to discussed with upstream which one is
the right one to distribute. I do not remember the software but if you
really want to know I check my mailbox on Monday.
