I have pushed commit cd918a04ea4acffcea61e7fb9e23a465b5e0ab59 dealing with this issue. My idea was to install VERSION under /usr/share/bio-vcf and hard-code this path via patch. Not sure this is the best way, though. Hope this helps, Andrius
