I am packaging an application that currently links with a non-free
library. Since I'm one of the developers for that application, I asked
the lead developer if we could modify it to link with a free equivalent
for Debian, so that the app could go in "main." He thought that would be
a good idea.
However, even though the package will be configured not to link any
non-free code, there will still be non-free libraries contained in the
upstream tarball. Is this a problem? If so, do we need to release
another upstream tarball that doesn't contain any non-free libraries?
