Hi all,

I'm thinking about packaging libfox-ruby (I know most DDs will do a better
job than me, so I'm not retitling #169959 by now), but I have a weird problem.
When it links, it gives this error message:

/tmp/ccnKXKVM.s:767620: Warning: .stabs: description field '15884' too big,
try a different debug format

a lot of times. I suppose I can "hide" it by not using "-g", but:

   1) Is a good idea compiling packages without "-g"?
   2) I don't see a way of doing it, because the Makefile is generated by
Ruby's install.rb script, and I don't see a way to pass a proper CFLAGS or
something.

Would it be a good idea compiling with some already-generated Makefile? I
don't think so, but... :-?

   Regards,
