I also have this annoying problem, when trying to use arm64 and x86 archs I always have to switch back the configuration file, and right now I ended up in using the slower classic resolver. Do you plan to report a bug? AFAIR this happened around apt 1.2, but I never digged into the issue, nor debugged it. G.
