A couple of things about the package: 0) Please convert the changelog and control files to UTF-8. 1) Please update the download location in the copyright file as that location no longer exists. A quick search with google reveals <http://www.staticky.com/software.html>. You should probably email upstream since it seems he forgot to post the actual software... While you're at it, the page hints at a newer version than what you have packaged, ask if/where it's available and if so update your package to use it. 2) Please clean up your debian/rules. You can remove the unused config target/section and having a bunch of commented out debhelper calls doesn't do anyone any good, and actually hurts readability. 3) Do you actually use this program? If you do or you would like to have this package in the archive b/c it is easy to package (eg. for NM) fine by me; otherwise, if you're just trying to fix the bug (for which I thank you), the easier/better thing might be to just have the package removed since, as implied by your mail, pppconfig is more powerful. If all this is ok with you, I will happily sponsor you.
