The original work was done for Fedora, Red-Hat & derivatives (CentOS &
Scientific Linux), because SCAP is originally a standard made by the
NIST and implemented (in the case of OpenSCAP) by Red-Hat. Yet the
OpenSCAP tool also exists in Debian/Gentoo... That's why I've integrated
the support for Debian/Ubuntu distros. Others has added support for
embedded distro (WRLinux). Some targets are not distro specific
(Firefox, JRE...).
You're right, the packaging is not hard.
