It builds, and the packaging seems sound.

I'm afraid I have no idea how to actually use the program -- when I tried to
naively pass it to a chess program that accepts plug-in engines (tried
xboard), it did not work for me.  But then, I assume you tested whether the
package works, and it's a failure on my side.  Thus, I uploaded it as-is,
to slightly reduce the last-day spike of ftpmasters' work.  If it's
something beyond me "holding it wrong", there's over a month of time left
before hard freeze.  My review is for packaging only really.

The other issue is an unconventional way to refer to the GPL; no idea if
this will get flagged by the ftpmasters.
