Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-CC: [email protected]

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for an upload of the 'backintime' package.

I have already made the previous upload (1.1.24-0.1) for this package, and the
maintainer,
Jonathan Wiltshire, has offered me to join him as co-maintainer of the package:

  https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=881205#34

I wrote to him about this new upload a couple of weeks ago, but I did not get a
response,
so I suspect he is still short on time, and that his offer to co-maintain the
package still
holds. I have added him in the X-Debbugs-CC field of this email just to be sure.

The new upload fixes various bugs, including one release critical bug
pertaining to the
removal of Qt 4. The changes are summarized in the latest changelog entry:

  backintime (1.2.1-1) unstable; urgency=medium

    * Add myself as co-maintainer in debian/control.
    * New upstream release (Closes: #930589, #935341, #879611).
    * Upgrade to Standards-Version 4.4.0 (no changes).
    * Upgrade to debhelper compat level 12.
    * Remove debian/patches (all fixed upstream).
    * Introduce new backintime-qt package, because upstream moved from
      Qt 4 to Qt 5. Make backintime-qt4 a transitional package.
    * Drop the transitional backintime-{gnome,kde} packages
      (Closes: #939139, #939140).

The package is available on Mentors, and I have put my changes in a forked
repository on
Salsa (I will push to the original repository once this upload has been
accepted):

  https://mentors.debian.net/package/backintime
  https://salsa.debian.org/wolff-guest/pkg-backintime

Thank you very much for your help!

Best regards,
Fabian

I've uploaded this and discussed more fully in another mail. Thanks for
your work on it.
