Why should I do this manually? I there really no lazier way?

Pbuilder actually uses debootstrap. Packages are installed on top of the
minimum installation using apt-get inside the chroot. (pbuilder login)
Pbuilder isn't used to calculate dependency's but it populates the
chroot with build-dependency.
