In short: The Qt/KDE team has a couple of helpers that simplify handling symbolfiles significantly. The page explains when you can use them and how you can use them. The helpers also take care of the differences between the different architectures (no need for multiple files per library as others have mentioned), though you need a buildlog for each architecture.
