It’s not “value”, it’s all about the package not getting rejected by ftpmasters and adding more work to both you and your sponsor.
And FYI, all packages must follow DFSG: https://www.debian.org/social_contract#guidelines
maybe try reading and understand why 2 people in this thread told you to use the same license as source.

perhaps you don’t understand why they’re a DD in the first place. They’ve been contributing for years and know very well what’s okay in a package and what’s not compared to someone whose packages are still in NEW.

People will be more interested in sponsoring your work if you actually try to learn something rather than fighting with people who are trying to correct your mistakes.
