1. I would recommend that you copy all your responses to the Debian Mentors mailing list, and subscribe to that list as some of the other conversations there will answer questions you have. > While exploring, I also came across *Bug #1121603: RFS: quickbib/0.4.1-5 > [ITP]*, a sponsorship request. The above RFS (Request For Sponsor) is made by someone who is already working on a package and would like a sponsor to review it. If you are highly interested in the package you might contact Archisman and see if he would like to work on it with you. But, generally, as someone new to Debian I would recommend you don’t work with someone else who is new to Debian. Rather, I would recommend you find an orphaned package or one that is requesting adoption that is either a package you already use yourself or one that you would be highly interested in using. It is easiest to begin packaging software that you use as an end user, as you can test out your own packaging changes. https://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/orphaned https://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/rfa_bypackage https://wnpp.debian.net/ > I would really appreciate any guidance, learning recommendations, or next > steps you can share as I start my Debian contributor journey. Out of curiosity, which version of Debian are you currently using? -- Soren Stoutner [email protected]
