Dear mentors.

I am seeking a sponsor for my Debian package, *smart-traceroute*.

Package details:

   -

   Package name: smart-traceroute
   -

   Version: 2.0.0-1
   -

Upstream author: Majdi Draouil [email protected]
   -

   Section: net
   -

   License: GPL-3+
   -

   VCS: https://salsa.debian.org/majdidraouil/smart-traceroute
   -

   Package page: https://mentors.debian.net/package/smart-traceroute

The source builds the following binary package:

   -

smart-traceroute – a network path intelligence tool with IP enrichment

The package can be downloaded using:
dget -x
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/smart-traceroute/smart-traceroute_2.0.0-1.dsc

Changes for the initial release (2.0.0-1), unstable, urgency medium:

   -

   Initial release (Closes: #1120600)
   -

   IPv4 traceroute implementation
   -

   Configurable options (maximum hops, timeout)
   -

   Clean and readable output format
   -

   Proper error handling

This is my first Debian package. I have:

   -

Filed the ITP bug #1120600 on November 12, 2025
   -

Followed the Debian Policy and packaging guidelines
   -

Built the package in a clean Debian bookworm environment
   -

Verified that it builds cleanly with no lintian errors
   -

Tested the binary to ensure it works correctly
   -

Uploaded the package to mentors.debian.net on December 18, 2025

Smart-traceroute is a network diagnostic tool similar to the traditional
traceroute, with additional features aimed at improving network
troubleshooting. It works completely offline, making it suitable for main,
and has minimal dependencies, limited to libc.

I am committed to maintaining this package and responding promptly to
feedback or bug reports. I would greatly appreciate any review, feedback,
or sponsorship.

Best regards,
Majdi Draouil
