Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "mdk-doc", which I have adopted as part of the ITA bug #1122513.

 * Package name     : mdk-doc
   Version          : 1.3.1-1
   Upstream contact : Jose A. Ortega Ruiz <[email protected]>
 * URL              : https://www.gnu.org/software/mdk/mdk.html
 * License          : LGPL-2+, GPL-3+, GPL-2+, GFDL-1.2+-inv-fc-bc
 * Vcs              : https://salsa.debian.org/debian/mdk-doc/
   Section          : non-free/doc

The source builds the following binary package:
  mdk-doc - Documentation for the MIX Development Kit

To access further information about this package, please visit:
  https://mentors.debian.net/package/mdk-doc/

Alternatively, you can download the package with 'dget' using this command:
dget -x https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/non-free/m/mdk-doc/mdk-doc_1.3.1-1.dsc

Changes since the last upload:

 mdk-doc (1.3.1-1) unstable; urgency=medium
 .
   * New upstream release 1.3.1
   * New maintainer (Closes: #1122513)
   * Update copyright years in debian/* files to include 2026
   * Declare compliance with Debian Policy 4.7.3
   * Refresh img-path.patch for upstream version 1.3.1
* Fix lintian warnings: remove redundant Priority and Rules-Requires-Root fields,
     standardize X-DH-Compat field capitalization

### Notes on mentors.debian.net QA warnings
1.  **debian/watch file warning**:
The watch file uses the latest Version 5 RFC822-style format, which is fully supported by the current stable version of uscan. Local `uscan --report-status` runs successfully, correctly identifies the latest upstream version, and handles signature verification as expected. The "obsolete version 1 watch file" warning on mentors is a false positive, caused by the site's older lintian/uscan version lacking support for the Version 5 format. I can readily switch to the widely compatible Version 4 format if preferred by the sponsor.

2.  **debhelper compatibility level warning**:
The package uses `X-Dh-Compat: 14` in debian/control, paired with a matching debian/compat file to ensure maximum compatibility. Local lintian runs produce no warnings related to the compatibility level, and the package builds correctly with debhelper compat 14. The warning on mentors is due to cached results from an earlier upload, and does not reflect the current state of the package.

### Package validation
- Upstream source tarball has been verified against the official GPG signature from the upstream author
- The package builds successfully in an unstable chroot environment
- Local lintian run with `-iIE --pedantic` produces only one experimental, ignorable warning about filenamemangle usage - The resulting binary package installs correctly, and all documentation is accessible as expected
