We, the Debian JP Project, have a lot of packages most of which will be contributed to the Debian Project in the future. Indeed, the more Debian makes new releases, the more packages from Debian JP is contributed to Debian. However, it seems a bit difficult to contribute all of them in the near future for some reason. Some developers in the Debian JP have no intention or feel difficulty in becoming an official Debian developer. So if the Japanese-related pacakges you've made is not available neither from Debian nor Debian JP, you should contribute it to Debian, not Debian JP. Even if you're interested in maintaining the Debian JP packages which is not yet available from Debian, go ahead please. But you should contact the Debian JP maintainer of the package first, IMO. He may contribute the package to Debian himself if he's already a official Debian developer. If not, he may decide to become a official Debian developer to upload the package or remove the package to avoid duplicates between Debian and Debian JP (when you become the maintainer of the package). > BTW, I'm running now lot of Debian-JP packages now and I'm really > impressed by their distribution.
