It is needed for gnuplotfortran which in turn is useful to call gnuplot from Fortran 90/95 programs. . Using this library you can find PWD, find hostname, open and close pipes, create/change/remove directories, obtain PID etc., from Fortran 90/95 programs. . gnuplotfortran is available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuplotfortran I will be filing a separate ITP for gnuplotfortran after this.
