Some points to note:
1. dvipng in Debian is version 1.5 while upstream is 1.8. According to
upstream's response to #366946 is in the process of preparing 1.9!
2. The NMU would close #330540, #346181, #327130 and #346084 in addition to
#338807 (which asks for packaging 1.7).
3. popcon of dvipng is at 1062.
4. There is no response from the maintainer. Perhaps he is MIA.
5. I am willing to adopt this package with a new maintainer version
if the package is actually orphaned.
