your other two concerns but I am having no luck with --no-compile.

To setup.py install call. This way you avoid byte compiling modules
while installing, which makes no sense as you should not include byte
compiled files in package and something (I guess pycentral) deletes
them anyway.
I have fixed everything you have mentioned and re-uploaded all three to
mentors if you get bored. :-)
