The package is closely related to Octave, as it was a library that was only used in Octave, but has now been packaged as a separate library. Once the Octave build system gets updated, Octave will depend on this library. I am therefore CCing the Debian Octave Group. Rafael Laboissiere, if you want to upload this to Debian, I will commit to our svn soon. I made a few trivial patches to the build system but without using quilt, so would you prefer that I fix that before committing?
