I'd suggest contacting the currently listed maintainer and asking them if they would like to join you in collaborating on the resumption of maintainence of apt-spy. I'd suggest importing the available history of the software into a git repository and maintaining it in collab-maint:
http://wiki.debian.org/Alioth/PackagingProject You can download some old versions of apt-spy to import from here: http://snapshot.debian.net/package/apt-spy http://stabile.debian.org:5001/package/apt-spy/ http://archive.debian.org/debian/pool/main/a/apt-spy/ http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/a/apt-spy/ I'd suggest also contacting the other maintainers of the package to find out if they have a version control repository somewhere. You might be able to find more versions of the package using google and the contents of the debian/changelog file: http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/a/apt-spy/current/changelog Here is some info about helping Debian in various capacities: http://people.debian.org/~mpalmer/debian-mentors_FAQ.html http://wiki.debian.org/Maintainers http://www.debian.org/devel/join/ http://www.debian.org/devel/join/newmaint Thanks for your work on apt-spy and interest in maintaining it again! -- bye, pabs http://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
