Cheers Lars, I'm looking at installing the links.txt file to ~/.<packagename>/links.txt, but I don't seem to be able to use the ~wildcard.
Using this line in my makefile: DEST3 = $(CURDIR)/debian/gtk-link-lizard/~/.gtk-link-lizard" It just creates a directory called "~" on the destination drive? It doesn't seem to want to replace the wildcard with /home/<user> I'm also unsure what you mean by "patch up the source code"?
