It's now fully lintian clean. As I already mentioned, the package name choice is not definitive and I'm open to any better name (but a not too long one) that could come up... ;) This app has been previously selected by the Ubuntu Application Review Board (under the name 'News RSS Ticker") and was in extras.ubuntu.com for maverick. I got very positive feedback from users.
