The name of the package is wrong, isn't it? I guess the name of the package should be libgdcm2.2, thus this command works for me for the current version you are providing in sid: pkgkde-gensymbols -V -plibgdcm2.2 -v2.2.1 -Osymbols.amd64 - edebian/tmp/usr/lib/libgdcmMSFF.so.2.2.0
