That's maybe because you don't ask lintian to show you pedantic tags
too. I personally have this ~/.lintianrc (to avoid having to type the
flags every time):
info=yes
display-info=yes
display-experimental=yes
pedantic=yes
show-overrides=no
color=always
equivalent flags are "-EIi --pedantic --color always"
anyway, just try
lintian-info -t maintainer-script-without-set-e
to see what you should do, it's fairly simple to understand and action.
