Hello For last couple of days i have been busy trying to put together a base mips distribution, modeled after the mipsel base dist which was made available recently.
The packages were compiled natively on mips (hard hat 5.1). I have completed the following packages: ------------------------------------------------- adduser_3.11.1_all.deb base-files_2.1.10_all.deb base-passwd_2.0.3.5_mips.deb bash_2.02.1-1.8_mips.deb data-dumper_2.10-2_mips.deb debianutils_1.13_mips.deb diff_2.7-20_mips.deb dpkg_1.4.1.19_mips.deb e2fslibs-dev_1.17-1_mips.deb e2fsprogs_1.17-1_mips.deb file_3.27-4_mips.deb fileutils_4.0-5_mips.deb findutils_4.1-34_mips.deb gettext-base_0.10.35-11.0.0_mips.deb gettext-doc_0.10.35-11.0.0_all.deb gettext_0.10.35-11.0.0_mips.deb grep_2.3-7_mips.deb groff_1.11a-7.1_mips.deb gzip_1.2.4-32_mips.deb hostname_2.05_mips.deb ldso_1.9.11-5_mips.deb libgdbmg1-dev_1.7.3-26.2_mips.deb libgdbmg1_1.7.3-26.2_mips.deb libnet-perl_1.0606-3_all.deb libreadlineg2_2.1-13.6_mips.deb libwrap0-dev_7.6-1.1_mips.deb libwrap0_7.6-1.1_mips.deb login_980403-0.3.2_mips.deb makedev_2.3.1-28_all.deb mawk_1.3.3-3_mips.deb mount_2.9x-1_mips.deb netbase_3.16-3_mips.deb passwd_980403-0.3.2_mips.deb perl-5.004-base_5.004.05-3_mips.deb perl-5.004-debug_5.004.05-3_mips.deb perl-5.004-doc_5.004.05-3_all.deb perl-5.004-suid_5.004.05-3_mips.deb perl-5.004_5.004.05-3_mips.deb perl-base_5.004.05-1_all.deb procps_2.0.3-5_mips.deb secure-su_980403-0.3.2_mips.deb sed_3.02-4_mips.deb setserial_2.15-12_mips.deb shellutils_2.0-2.1_mips.deb sysklogd_1.3-33_mips.deb sysvinit_2.77-3_mips.deb tar_1.13.11-2_mips.deb tcpd_7.6-1.1_mips.deb textutils_2.0-2_mips.deb update_2.11-1_mips.deb util-linux_2.9x-1_mips.deb ------------------------------------------------- Please note that the above listed debs are not tested/verified for correctness in any way. (dpkg would be the only exception, since it was put to use in the process of creating all the other packages) Only 2? *very* important packages are missing right now for creating a minimal base dist, they are glibc and the ncurses library. I will try to build the missing packages next week or maybe someone on this list could give it a try. Basing glibc on Florian's work would probably be the best way to get a working glibc package. I have uploaded dpkg(dpkg_1.4.1.19_mips.deb, dpkg_1.4.1.19_mips.nondebbin.tar.gz) and debhelper to ftp.rfc822.org and maybe Florian can make them available for download. I'll try to make the other packages available tomorrow (Saturday). Thomas Berg [EMAIL PROTECTED]
