However, most likely the problem is simply because the mips images are
currently out of date. I suggest you install stable (etch) since this
is known to be working.
I've just tried
http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian/dists/etch/main/installer-mips/current/images/r5k-ip32/netboot-boot.img
which gave me the same problem.
Is that what you were suggesting I try - or is there another image I
should look for?
