Actually that is what I wanted to say with "it needs someone to package it". I am well aware that the packaging is already done (upstream provides the debian packaging system too). What has to be done is to sort out all these "subtle" problems some parts of mplayer might have and upload it. For further discussion I want to invite the interested people to the debian-multimedia list, that was recently created. The fact that mplayer is not in debian yet reflects that the interest in multimedia applications is not very well organised yet within debian. The debian-multimedia list is meant as a mean to get rid of that problem. (with not very overwhelming success until now, I have to admit). Greetings, Guenter
