Package: audacity Version: 1.3.3-1+b1 Severity: important
This version of audacity has causes a hard lock on my local x-windows when run remotely. Issued on the remote machine, "audacity filename.mp3" starts correctly, reading in the file given on the startup line and displaying the file. The moment I click on the Audacity window my local machine freezes; in KDE, the clock stops running; the cursor can be moved, but to no effect. I have to go to a different computer to do anything; outside of x-windows, everything works fine. However, if I kill x-windows, I still don't get the console back and end up rebooting. syslog has no errors; I didn't check the xorg log, which is wiped on reboot. The remote machine is fine. Both machines are amd64 running sid. I'm happy to provide more details. I use the nv open-source driver for an nvidia card on the local machine; the remote system isn't running x-windows. I've not had this problem with other applications, and I run applications through x-windows all the time, including live tv. I've also not had the problem with earlier versions of Audacity, though I may not have tried every Debian release.
