Hi Mark, thank you very much for the patch. Indeed, I have been bitten by this myself before, but was reluctant to write a patch, because I somehow assumed the hard sample rate limit was required internally.
However, I don't think this is a Debian-specific problem and thus not an issue in which we should divert from upstream. Would you please take your patch to the upstream issue tracker at their Github page? Thank you! - Fabian
