Hi,
It's actually quite strange for just a regular Linux user, that a
package like NSM / Non-Daw is very easy to build on your local system,
with little dependencies, but gives so much headaches to get it in a
Debian. Probably no one to blame, but it can be quite a disadvantage of
the open source environment.
Anyway, someone made a other GUI for NSM, it also uses the nsmd server
API, so sessions are 100% compatible with the ones made in the default
NSM GUI.
That will be a more easy candidate to package it in Debian:

Still quite a shame that I've to conclude that Non-Daw / NSM is still
not in Debian after all these years. Especially NSM, Non-mixer and
Non-Timeline should be in Debian of course, because it's nice software.
Moreover I think it is a nice example of a modular (KISS) design for
music production in a environment with the JACK. It's very lightweight
software, so it would also be a great candidate for Raspbian.

Cheers.

Hi,
I came to the conclusion that I'm not able to get this project done,
also because upstream developer is less responsive lately.
For more skilled people in this realm there are certainly some options
here though, especially if you decide to only package
non-session-manager (NSM).
It might then be best to split of the non-session-manager in it's own
repo and make it build with a makefile and build it with default fltk
and not with the ntk toolkit (fork of fltk).
It would be still good for Linuxaudio if people would have easy access
to the default NSM GUI on Debian, Ubuntu and last but not least Raspbian.

If I can help someone, with this job, I'm willing too, all though I've
not much packaging experience. I know the software and have good contact
with the developer. Which might make things more easy.

Hi all,
Someone who wants to package this non-session-manager?
Would be a great addition to the audio packages in Debian.
The bugreport is here:

Hi,
The Non-Session-Manager is a important application when you want to
use
audio applications on Linux to make music. The Non Session Manager
is an
API and an implementation for session management. It stores and
restores
JACK connections, applications in the session and it's state. When you
re-open a session, everything is there where you left it. All data is
saved in one folder which makes it easy to share sessions among users
and musicians. NSM is now the chosen session manager by the
maintainers
of JACK, it works really well.

There are about 30 audio applications supporting it, like Zynaddsubfx,
Ardour, Qtractor, Carla, AlsaModularSynth etc. etc.
http://non.tuxfamily.org/wiki/ApplicationsSupportingNsm
After JACK and Ardour it's probably one of the most important packages
to have in Debian for people who wants to make music on Debian.
Is someone willing to package it for Debian? That would be great!
There is also Non-timeline, Non-mixer and Non-sequencer which are
really
worth to get into Debian.

Thanks in advance!
