Sorry that I took so long to answer. Thank you for taking the initiative. For the background, I used to be a contributor of pnmixer upstream, but that must have been 10 years ago. Nobody maintains it upstream anymore AFAICS (last commit 7 years ago). The package is still in Debian testing, it doesn't hurt to leave it there I guess, maybe there are still users that are happy with it? And at the same time, if the Multimedia Team prefers to remove it from Debian, I'm fine with that. Up to you. Thanks again for moving the package to a team that can maintain it if they want to.
