Yes, the cause of this build failure appears to be the aforementioned removal of <3.5 compatibility. This appears to be fixed in upstream 1.4.2, now in testing. (Specifically, cmake_minimum_required in CMakeLists.txt has been updated to 3.12.0.) Philip Chung
