Applicant writes:
5 years ago in our school a self learning centre was founded by an
teacher and he wants pupils to administrate the servers and manage the
whole business there. I was one of these pupils.
At first we had an woody server with an self build thin-client setup
and later we switched to skolelinux, as this solution was better than
ours. Over the time I drived several times to the german testcenter
of skolelinux in g??tersloh and then last january our self learning
centre(SLZ) organised an international skolelinux gathering in order
to get the people from france, germany, spain and norway together.
Later last year (I guess juli ?) i attend the debian-edu/skolelinux
developer gathering in Extremadura.
As I wrote aboth I will be at the Chemnitzer Linuxtage and hopefully I
have enough time to drive this year at least once to norway for an
debian-edu developer gathering.

I know Patrick for some years now since he started to run the Debian
systems in his school. He became more and more involved with Debian
and is now a Skolelinux developer and already maintains some Debian
packages. Since he already did quite some work for Debian I think it's
a logical next step to become a full maintainer.
3. Philosophy and Procedures

Patrick Winnertz has a good understanding of Debian's philosophy
and procedures and answered all my questions about the social
contract, DFSG, BTS, etc. in a good way. Patrick committed to
uphold the SC and DFSG in his Debian work and accepts the DMUP.
4. Tasks and Skills
- -------------------
Patrick has a good understanding of the technical side of Debian.
He is maintainer of advas, italc, liblatex-tom-perl, lwat,
powertop, sslbackup-php, wifi-radar. (Sponsors and co-maintainers
include Morten Werner Olsen, Finn-Arne Johansen, and Jose Luis
Rivas Contreras.)
All packages are in good shape. Patrick also answered my other
questions regarding T&S without problems and provided patches for
RC bugs. Of special note is Patrick's efforts with Martin
Zobel-Helas to review build logs of 15,000 packages looking for
FTBFS bugs.
