Hi, I have seen on the Debian Wiki that an annual ping is required from DM, in order to confirm their interest.
This ping should be a signed bug report against the debian-maintainers package. Looking at the archives bugs, I was not able to find any such report. Is that mandatory/useful to open such a report? I have been a DM since mid-December 2007, hence would need to make it if needed.
