I too would like to advocate for Ahmed El-Mahmoudy to become a Debian Maintainer. I have worked with Ahmed on the pkg-electronics team where he has recently taken the lead in maintaining several of our packages. Most recently this included a full repackaging of geda-gaf in co-operation with upstream. The packaging work has been of high quality and Ahmed has been responsive to feedback. I believe he will be a great Maintainer for the project.
