I have not had the pleasure to work directly with Geoff, but I have been following his work as main IBM Cell kernel developer and his work on ps3, constantly trying to push fixes into Debian to get d-i work on such platform. Geoff's work has high quality technical standards, but also he is quite fine socially speaking, therefore I believe he can be a great asset for Debian community.
