Hello, I worked with Daniel on the packaging of scoop in the Debian-Science team. He was really friendly during all the email ping-pong we had during this preparation. He was responsive to my remarks and autonomous enought to modernize the packaging of scoop. He did the autopkgtest integration by himself reading carefully the documentation. So it knows about the debian policy and find by himself his way in all the Debian Documentation. So, it seems to me that he has all the quality requiered to become a Debian Maintainer. I would let him take over the responsability of uploading scoop without problem.
