* Applicant background I've been contributing to the Debian Project in different ways for the past decade, and now I think it's time (some people say I'm late...) to become a real member of the project -- even if I already feel like I am one (thanks!). I have a background in computer science and during all my academic years I've been doing Debian-related work. Translations to pt_BR, packaging, various tasks for Debian-BR-CDD, some others for Debtags, some packaging, writing a package recommender system as my master's thesis, Debian Women and DebConf organization are some of the tasks/groups I've been involved with. Nowadays I'm not very much in my "tech mood" and I'm primarily interested in contributing to DebConf and other non-technical tasks. I understand the relevance of face-to-face meetings for promoting social connections in the project.
