Hello,

I recommend to accept Herbert Parentes Fortes Neto as a new Debian Developer,
uploading.
The account name is hpfn.

 * Applicant background

I can not tell exactly how I came to GNU/Linux and free software.

I did dive-in, surf, beach soccer, jiu-jistsu, graduated in psychology, climb,
yoga. And worked selling magazine, as waiter, at market, clothing store, as
climbing instructor, etc.

When I stopped climbing, I got a pc and for some reason I installed Conectiva
6. A pc was not part of my life. I saw a little box on the shelf and bought it.
Because of the support.

The pc had a winmodem for a dialup conection and it did not work. I called the
support and was welcome by the guy. It was not part of the support but he
helped me. And I started to use the internet.

The free software world was like a dream. People talking about they do, sharing
what they know. Without any interest in taking some advantage. Maybe a
Romamtic view but I still have it.

I change from Conectiva to Debian because it is a project made by volunteers no
company at the control.

I started to contribute with translations and when I got close to packages an
programming stress put me down. It was about 2008. I got back in 2014. Righ now
is the only thing I do.

I do translations and packages. I have interest in shellscript, python and C. I
just made my choice and python is the language I will learn first. My goal is
programming.

Regards,

Phil Brooke
