I have been working on the default theming of Debian since squeeze time in order to make the default appearance of Debian more appealing. I’ve worked in particular on desktop-base with corsac for which I am currently DM, with KiBi on the theming of the debian installer, with the KDE/gnome/xfce teams to have the default theme of the respective desktops match the chosen Debian theme, with artists to help them in the technical integration of their artwork into Debian. The current status of desktop-base and its recent activity is largely due to my implication in this area. I intend to continue working on these areas to improve Debian’s first impression on new users and the general default appearance of the distribution and alternative choices.
