Hello, ... I have uploaded two new package that could of interest to be included in the next debian-news.
The first one, advi, which obsoletes both older versions, mldvi and activeddvi, is a dvi viewer which doubles as a presentation viewer. Description: A simple DVI previewer written in Objective Caml. ActiveDVI is a nice dvi viewer written in Objective Caml, based on mldvi. Additionally to mldvi's features (antialiasing, colors as defined in the latex package color, automatic recompilation of METAFONT fonts and automatic reloading of the file after modification) it supports inclusion of encapsulated postscipt files and some effects for presentation (pause, delay, text color change) Mmm, i need to change this description to be more speaking. Maybe the following would be more speaking. Description: A DVI presentation viewer written in Objective Caml. ActiveDVI is a viewer for DVI files that also recognizes a new class of \special's targeted to presentations via laptop computers: various special effects can easily be incorporated to the presentation, via a companion advi LaTeX package. The second, whizzytex, is a minor emacs mode which works with any dvi previewer, but takes advantage of the features of advi, to provide a "WYSIWIG" environement for latex. Description: a WYSIWIG environment for LaTeX WhizzyTeX is an emacs minor mode for incrementally (TeXing and) previewing a LaTeX file that you are editing. . It works with ghostview-based and xdvi-based previewers, but best visual effect and more options will be available if you use the advi previewer.
