What if i put a big debconf warning when installing ocaml-base or something such. The users would have to manually revert to ocaml 3.06-12, or when all libraries are translated, simply install the new libraries also. Notice that this happen only on upgrade, not when removing and re-installing the package with dpkg. That said, we need to rebuild libraries fast, since 3.06-12 will be removed from sid once 3.06-13 is built on a given arch. I will make a backup of the ocaml packages before the transition, and provide a hint to them in the debconf warning. Does this sound fair ? BTW, i will also deprecate ocaml-ldconf in the new packages. Is there any problem with this ? All library packages seem to be using the stublibs by now. I will replace ocaml-ldconf by a script saying it is obsolet and the package should be replaced, or something such. I think i will upload the new packages this WE, if nobody objects strongly (or volunteers to fix dpkg). Friendly, Sven Luther
