That package is buggy and needs to be fixed. It should build-depend on ocaml-best-compiler instead. My guess is that the package in question never ever bothered about non-native arches, and will break on other non-native arches too (s390, hppa and m68k right now i believe). > IOW, it's not a bug in that particular package I tried to build.
