Yes.  On April 12 (or thereabout), one of two things will happen:
either I release 3.09.2+rc1 as 3.09.2 with only one change (the version
string), or I release a 3.09.2+rc2 with some bug fixes.

In the first case, it will be totally compatible.  In the second case,
that's still very likely, but not guaranteed.

Yes, but be ready to undo that work if there turns out to be a
serious bug in +rc1.
