Have Debian considered packaging a curses/ncurses binding? For Fedora I took the curses bindings from http://www.nongnu.org/ocaml-tmk/ and have created a package https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=250969. These curses bindings seem to be perfectly well-written and cover a large proportion of the interface.
I intend to fork this project to create a stable upstream which both Debian and Fedora can use, unless you know of another binding which I should be using instead.
