Romain, did you use pristine-tar? (--git-pristine-tar option to git-buildpackage). BTW, there is a new upstream release (two versions ahead, 1.2.3). I think this would be the right time to update the package, see if the patches are still needed (in particular, natdynlink_support.dpatch), and submit/remind upstream about the problems they solve.
