In general, the answer is, unfortunately, no. Debian wheezy has been frozen since July last year. This means that only very serious, release critical bugs will be fixed. Release critical means a security hole, data loss or that the application is almost unusable. Upgrading a package to a new version is, in general, not possible for wheezy.
