Package: src:perl4caml Version: 0.9.5-7 Severity: important Tags: sid trixie User: [email protected] Usertags: ftbfs-gcc-14
[This bug is targeted to the upcoming trixie release] Please keep this issue open in the bug tracker for the package it was filed for. If a fix in another package is required, please file a bug for the other package (or clone), and add a block in this package. Please keep the issue open until the package can be built in a follow-up test rebuild. The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with gcc-14/g++-14, but succeeds to build with gcc-13/g++-13. The severity of this report will be raised before the trixie release. The full build log can be found at: http://qa-logs.debian.net/2024/07/01/perl4caml_0.9.5-7_unstable_gccexp.log The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report. To build with GCC 14, either set CC=gcc-14 CXX=g++-14 explicitly, or install the gcc, g++, gfortran, ... packages from experimental. apt-get -t=experimental install g++ Common build failures are new warnings resulting in build failures with -Werror turned on, or new/dropped symbols in Debian symbols files. For other C/C++ related build failures see the porting guide at http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-14/porting_to.html [...] 5178 | #define HAS_STRTOD_L /**/ | ^~~~~~~~~~~~ /usr/lib/ocaml/caml/s.h:230:9: note: this is the location of the previous definition 230 | #define HAS_STRTOD_L 1 | ^~~~~~~~~~~~ /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl/5.38/CORE/config.h:5282:9: warning: "HAS_TIMES" redefined 5282 | #define HAS_TIMES /**/ | ^~~~~~~~~ /usr/lib/ocaml/caml/s.h:66:9: note: this is the location of the previous definition 66 | #define HAS_TIMES 1 | ^~~~~~~~~ In file included from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl/5.38/CORE/perl.h:3453: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl/5.38/CORE/unixish.h:30:9: warning: "HAS_UTIME" redefined 30 | #define HAS_UTIME /**/ | ^~~~~~~~~ /usr/lib/ocaml/caml/s.h:131:9: note: this is the location of the previous definition 131 | #define HAS_UTIME 1 | ^~~~~~~~~ perl_c.c: In function ‘perl4caml_init’: perl_c.c:97:25: error: passing argument 2 of ‘Perl_sys_init’ from incompatible pointer type [-Wincompatible-pointer-types] 97 | PERL_SYS_INIT (&argc, &argv); | ^~~~~ | | | char * (*)[5] /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl/5.38/CORE/perl.h:3608:61: note: in definition of macro ‘PERL_SYS_INIT’ 3608 | #define PERL_SYS_INIT(argc, argv) Perl_sys_init(argc, argv) | ^~~~ In file included from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl/5.38/CORE/perl.h:6188: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl/5.38/CORE/proto.h:4992:34: note: expected ‘char ***’ but argument is of type ‘char * (*)[5]’ 4992 | Perl_sys_init(int *argc, char ***argv); | ~~~~~~~~^~~~ In file included from /usr/lib/ocaml/caml/alloc.h:24: perl_c.c: In function ‘perl4caml_string_of_sv’: /usr/lib/ocaml/caml/mlvalues.h:290:24: warning: passing argument 1 of ‘memcpy’ discards ‘const’ qualifier from pointer target type [-Wdiscarded-qualifiers] 290 | #define String_val(x) ((const char *) Bp_val(x)) | ~^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ perl_c.c:149:11: note: in expansion of macro ‘String_val’ 149 | memcpy (String_val (strv), str, len); | ^~~~~~~~~~ In file included from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl/5.38/CORE/perl.h:1715: /usr/include/string.h:43:39: note: expected ‘void * restrict’ but argument is of type ‘const char *’ 43 | extern void *memcpy (void *__restrict __dest, const void *__restrict __src, | ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~^~~~~~ perl_c.c: In function ‘perl4caml_hv_iterkey’: /usr/lib/ocaml/caml/mlvalues.h:290:24: warning: passing argument 1 of ‘memcpy’ discards ‘const’ qualifier from pointer target type [-Wdiscarded-qualifiers] 290 | #define String_val(x) ((const char *) Bp_val(x)) | ~^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ perl_c.c:625:11: note: in expansion of macro ‘String_val’ 625 | memcpy (String_val (strv), str, len); | ^~~~~~~~~~ /usr/include/string.h:43:39: note: expected ‘void * restrict’ but argument is of type ‘const char *’ 43 | extern void *memcpy (void *__restrict __dest, const void *__restrict __src, | ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~^~~~~~ perl_c.c: In function ‘perl4caml_hv_iternextsv’: /usr/lib/ocaml/caml/mlvalues.h:290:24: warning: passing argument 1 of ‘memcpy’ discards ‘const’ qualifier from pointer target type [-Wdiscarded-qualifiers] 290 | #define String_val(x) ((const char *) Bp_val(x)) | ~^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ perl_c.c:654:11: note: in expansion of macro ‘String_val’ 654 | memcpy (String_val (strv), str, len); | ^~~~~~~~~~ /usr/include/string.h:43:39: note: expected ‘void * restrict’ but argument is of type ‘const char *’ 43 | extern void *memcpy (void *__restrict __dest, const void *__restrict __src, | ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~^~~~~~ make[2]: *** [<builtin>: perl_c.o] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory '/<<PKGBUILDDIR>>' dh_auto_build: error: make -j1 "INSTALL=install --strip-program=true" returned exit code 2 make[1]: *** [debian/rules:18: override_dh_auto_build] Error 25 make[1]: Leaving directory '/<<PKGBUILDDIR>>' make: *** [debian/rules:8: binary] Error 2 dpkg-buildpackage: error: debian/rules binary subprocess returned exit status 2
